My husband and I always have the same two conversations when we're packing for any sort of trip. He asks, "How many nice shirts am I going to need?" and I ask, staring down at the bedside drawer jam-packed with silky drawstring pouches, "Which sex toys should I bring?" Solving for the shirts is simple math, but the process of choosing just one or two toys to squeeze in my carry-on is always mega stressful.
When Zalo sent me their new Kyro Wand Massager—a cordless 3-in-1 vibrator described by the company's PR rep as the "Swiss Army Knife of sex toys"—I realized it could ease my indecision. The "base" version of the Kyro is a classic wand, and it comes with two silicone attachments that suction onto the head like cute little hats. One has two arms—one for internal G-spot stimulation and another for external clit stimulation; the other looks like a duck bill (but sexy, I promise), with two curved prongs designed for clit or nipple play.
Because I recently had some free time on my hands, and multiple orgasms are fun, I decided to test them all out in one marathon masturbation session. Would the Kyro be as good as owning three separate toys, or would it be a classic case of "I wish this thing did one thing really well instead of three things only sort of well"? Come join me on my quest for answers.
Round #1: Basic wand mode
I love a wand vibrator. That includes the one I already had, from a different brand, which for some reason emits tiny electric shocks (not in a cute e-stim way) and kind of smells like it's burning when I use it for too long. The Kyro immediately had a leg up on that toy, in that it didn't electrocute my clit or produce any alarming odors. High five, Kyro!
The power of a wand vibrator can be a little intense for direct clitoral stimulation, which is why my favorite way to use a wand is to lie on my back, hold it between my legs, and press it up against the opening of my vagina for the truly wonderful yet under-appreciated pussy entrance orgasm (PEO). The Kyro was light enough that I could wield it with one hand and not get a wrist cramp. My only wish is that the controls were closer to the head of the toy. I don't know if I have short arms or a long torso or what, but with the angle at which I was holding it, the buttons were slightly out of reach unless I got my other hand involved. Overall, not a big deal. I am delighted to announce the Kyro got the job done. PEO: accomplished.
One other note on the Kyro's basic wand mode before I move on: It's also great for partner play. (I tested it out in that context the night before.) The wand's large head makes it easy to hit your fave spots while you're focused on lots of things at once—for instance, if you're using it while receiving penetration or going down on someone.
But now, back to my marathon solo sesh.
Round #2: Internal/external combo mode
I was worried the little "hat" would pop off the wand and get lodged in my vag mid-thrust, but I was pleasantly surprised by how strongly each attachment suctioned to the head of the Kyro. The trickiest part turned out to be inserting the attachment; since the arms are hollow and floppy—not solid—it was sorta like dealing with a semi-flaccid peen. I solved the problem with a little lube, which I should have been using to begin with because lube makes everything better, so actually, I was the problem.
The floppiness of the arms turned out to be a selling point. When you're using a solid rabbit-style vibe, you run the risk of the arms not quite aligning with your anatomy. With the Kyro, I could bend the arms to hit all the right spots, alternating pressure between my G-spot and external clit. As I got closer, I leaned harder into the external stimulation, and that's when I had an amazing blended orgasm.
One thing to note about this particular attachment: It does make the toy quite long—15 inches, to be exact, which I know because I got out of bed to embark on a pants-less search for our tape measure. The size of the toy isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's something you might want to know in advance. (I, for one, think there's something kinda hot about using a huge toy on yourself, or having a partner use a huge toy on you—maybe as a form of BDSM punishment?)
Round #3: Sexy duck bill mode
Okay. Wow. Sexy duck bill mode. *Wipes sweat off brow.* This, for me, was the highlight of the whole Kyro experience. Here's why: I really enjoy stimulation coming at my clit from the sides (especially the left side—many vulva owners say their clit is more sensitive on one side than the other). The sexy duck bill attachment essentially feels like two tongues going to town on both sides of your clit at the same time.
When I'm using a vibrator, I usually get so eager to cum that I press the toy into my clit and make it happen ASAP, but that's not really possible with the shape and functionality of this attachment. It forced me to take my time and enjoy the sensations without focusing on the orgasm above all else—which, paradoxically, tends to lead to a more powerful orgasm, because you're not stressing about orgasming. And that's exactly what happened. This orgasm blew my dang mind. Thank you, sexy duck bill.
Bonus round: Sexy duck bill on the nip
By the end of the third round, I was sprawled out on my bed like a gooey puddle of honey. That's when I remembered the sexy duck bill was also designed for nipple play, and I'd forgotten to work that into my routine.
In the spirt of leaving no stone unturned, I lifted up my shirt and held the vibe to my nipple. Damn. It felt really good, the pleasurable twinge of pain similar to the sensation of using a clitoral suction toy on your nip. But at this point, I was spent. And as they say, you should always leave a vacation with something you still want to do, so that way, you'll have a reason to come back. I'm pumped to revisit my Kyro so I can further explore its nipple play possibilities.
The final verdict:
This vibe has multiple functions, but it does ALL OF THEM well. See you on my next vacation, Kyro.
